Temporary (Summer) position.

Meets the Bicycle Shop needs of guests by providing excellent customer service in an efficient manner by performing the following duties.  Must represent the best of Sea Pines. Must safely transport and deliver bikes as scheduled and in a timely manner. 


Primary responsibilities, while other duties may be assigned:

Greets guests of the Resort, makes them feel welcome, and helps meet their needs.

Spreads hospitality and good will among all guests of the Resort.

Provides high level of customer service while answering questions from customers regarding bicycle rentals & merchandise for sale.

Collecting payment and making correct change quickly and with a high level of customer service.

Rents bicycles, picking out the proper bike for the renter, while making sure each bike is safe and in good mechanical condition. This would include washing bikes and making basic mechanical adjustments.

Delivering and picking up rental bikes, including loading and unloading the bicycle delivery trucks.


Must work holidays and most weekends.


Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.


Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to quickly and accurately compute change.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving members, guests, suppliers, equipment, and supplies in a timely and effective manner.  Needs efficient time-management skills.  May work unsupervised for extended periods of time.  Is empowered within Resort and department guidelines to satisfy customer complaints.


Personal integrity is a must and must maintain a professional manner with the public.  Ability to interact effectively with guests of diverse ages, backgrounds, and interests.  Ability to project a service-mentality with a warm, caring attitude while maintaining order and efficiency.  Individual must be responsible and have the maturity to be able to work alone.  Must have good guest-service skills and be capable of handling effectively difficult guests and guest complaints.  Must be able to work in a teamwork environment. 



High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  Ability to use calculator, computer-based reservation system, and point-of-sale systems is required.   

Must possess a valid Driver's License
