The Sea Pines Resort is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team. The Staff Accountant’s primary responsibility is to oversee the Vacation Rental accounting operations of the Resort and will include general accounting and financial reporting functions.

Post charges to owners on a daily and monthly basis.

Maintain current owner information on databases.

Balance owner accounts and generate statements to send to owners monthly.

Remit payments to owners on a monthly basis.

Manage owner accounts, collects on accounts receivable balances and apply owner payments.

Analyze data to identify problems and/or issues and work with applicable departments and other Accounting team members to resolve.

Prepare monthly recurring, accrual and adjusting journal entries.

Assist in the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.

Perform special projects and analysis as requested by Director of Finance and other Accounting team members.

REQUIRED SKILLS DETAILS

Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of management. Excellent computer skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Must have computer skills and the ability to learn Accounting/Point of Sales (POS) systems. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to interact effectively with guests, members, vendors, and employees of diverse ages, backgrounds, and interests. Applicant must be able to communicate well with others inside and outside the company.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE


Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Hospitality Management or related field from four-year college or university. Previous experience in hospitality, vacation rentals or condominium experience preferred. Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and effectively handle multiple projects.

Valid South Carolina Driver's License
